Description
Westlands receives water from two sources, the federal Central Valley Project and groundwater. The District, in turn, provides water service to over 700 family-owned farms that produce an average of $4.5 billion in goods and services each year. However, a number of ever-looming conditions continue to threaten or cutoff these supplies. If this were to happen, the devastating economic, environmental, and social effects would be felt around the world.
The Municipal Water District of Orange County’s Water Policy Forum & Dinner will be held on Thursday, September 5, where attendees will hear firsthand the water challenges faced in the Central Valley. The keynote speaker, William Bourdeau, carries the unique perspective of a farmer, Executive Vice President at Harris Farms Inc., Chairman of the Board of the California Water Alliance, and Board Director at Westlands Water District. Join MWDOC as Mr. Bourdeau discusses water supply uncertainty through the distinct lenses of both water user and water supplier.
Reserved tables (with company logo) are available for 8 guests at a cost of $850.
