This workshop will give you an overview and demonstration on how to apply for the following certifications:

  • How to qualify for SBA's 8(a) Business Development Program Certification:
The 8(a) Business Development Program is a nine (9) year business assistance program for small businesses that are owned and controlled at least 51% by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.
The 8(a) Program is an essential instrument for helping socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs gain access to the economic mainstream of American society. The program helps thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs gain a foothold in government contracting.
  • How to qualify for Women-Owned Small Business Certification:
The WOSB Program is a certification program that authorizes federal contracting officers to set aside certain federal requirements/contracts for competition solely amongst women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) or economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs).
  • How to qualify for HUBZone Certification:
The Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) certification program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal opportunities/contracts.
